Categorisation

Categorisation available via Akahu Apply

Akahu Apply provides two levels of transaction categorisation:

  • NZFCCs: Every transaction categorised by Akahu Apply is assigned an NZFCC (New Zealand Financial Category Code). NZFCCs are a highly granular set of roughly 200 categories designed to suit a broad range of use cases. NZFCCs provide useful flexibility if you have highly specific needs, but with so many categories to work with, most Akahu Apply users prefer our simpler income and spending categories.

  • Income and spending categories: Every transaction categorised by Akahu Apply will also be assigned an income category or spending category. Each income category and spending category is comprised of a logical group of NZFCCs. This smaller set of categories can be readily mapped to your workflow, making them the easiest way to slice transaction data. Akahu can build a customised set of income and spending categories to meet your requirements, though most customers find that our defaults are suitable for their needs.
